Academic ambition among rural female students at Taiz University under conditions of war and displacement

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the level of academic ambition among rural female students at Taiz University under conditions of war and displacement, and to know the significance of the differences in this level according to the type of housing (government - private), the type of enrollment (in a college - in a center), and the type of college (medical - non-medical). To achieve its objectives, the Academic Ambition Scale was used, consisting in its final form of (41) items distributed in five dimensions: perseverance and academic excellence, ambition towards assuming responsibility, the ability to set goals, acceptance of new things, optimism, and tolerance of frustration, after verifying its psychometric properties of... With honesty and consistency, the research used the descriptive survey method, and its sample consisted of (231) rural female students from the University of Taiz who live in the government university housing affiliated with the University of Taiz and the charitable housing affiliated with the Ofoq and Isnad Charitable Foundations. The results showed that the level of academic ambition among the research sample was high. Very well, and that there are no statistically significant differences at the significance level of α = 0.05 depending on the variable type of housing (government - private), and there are no differences at this level depending on the variable type of enrollment (college - center), and there are no differences at this level depending on For the college type variable (medical - non-medical).
