Abstract

This study deals with the ruling of Sharia on the sanctity of the dead, and the ruling on photographing them and publishing their pictures on social media. It consists of an introduction and four sections. The first section is devoted to explaining the concept of photography, the dead, and social media. The second section explains the sanctity of the dead body and the manifestations of honoring it. The third section explains the ruling on publishing pictures of the bodies of martyrs and those killed in the wars waged by infidels against Muslims. The fourth section explains the opinions of scholars on the issue of photographing the dead and publishing them on social media, with a statement of the evidence they relied on, then weighing between the opinions, asking God Almighty to benefit from it.
