Abstract

The study aimed to recognize the reality of crisis management in public education institutions in the Republic of Yemen, and it was applied to secondary schools in the city of Taiz. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive analytical method was used, and a questionnaire was designed consisting of (34) items distributed over five areas, namely: (planning, leadership skills, communication system, information, work team). It was distributed to the study sample, which consisted of (182) respondents, and they constituted (60%) of the original study population. The study concluded that the degree of estimates of the sample members about the reality of crisis management in government secondary schools in the city of Taiz came to a high degree in all fields, and they were arranged as follows: the field of leadership skills, followed by the field of communication system, then the field of planning, and finally the field of teamwork and information Straight. The results of the study also showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the answers of the study sample members due to the study variables represented in: (age, educational qualification, years of experience, work), and also showed that there were no statistically significant differences due to the gender variable in all areas of the study. Except in the area of ​​leadership skills.

Depending on the findings of the study, the researchers recommend working on enhancing the efficiency of secondary school principals in the fields of study, by holding training courses and specialized workshops in crisis management, and seeking the assistance of experts and specialists from outside the school when preparing plans, and forming crisis management teams, in addition to establishing a special unit for crisis management in the Education Office in the governorate, and education departments in the districts.
