This study examined the institutional and academic readiness of the University of Science and Technology to adopt artificial intelligence applications in education and administration. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, data were collected through a questionnaire administered to 41 participants, including academics and administrators. The findings highlighted key strengths such as an accredited quality center, advanced technological infrastructure, and modern information systems, alongside internal weaknesses including the absence of a clear digital transformation policy, limited training programs, and restricted use of AI educational tools. Externally, opportunities such as research excellence and technological partnerships were identified, while challenges included weak national infrastructure, lack of regulatory frameworks, and rising cybersecurity threats. Statistical analysis revealed significant differences in job title regarding perceptions of institutional strengths, favoring administrators, with no significant differences in job level or years of experience. The study concludes with recommendations to establish a digital transformation policy, enhance training, expand partnerships, and develop digital indicators and simulation models for AI integration in higher education.
