The present study aimed to identify the level of strategic vigilance practiced by educational supervisors in Taiz Governorate and to examine statistically significant differences according to demographic variables: gender, academic qualification, years of service, and region. To achieve the study objectives, the researcher adopted a descriptive-analytical approach and developed a 60-item questionnaire distributed across six dimensions of vigilance. The questionnaire was administered to a stratified random sample of 320 male and female educational supervisors.
The results revealed that the level of strategic vigilance practice among educational supervisors was high, with a mean score of 3.71 and a standard deviation of 0.56. The findings also showed variation in the ranking of the dimensions. Evaluative vigilance ranked first with a mean of 3.939, followed by organizational vigilance with a mean of 3.890, planning vigilance with a mean of 3.756, competitive vigilance with a mean of 3.670, environmental vigilance with a mean of 3.533, and finally technological vigilance with a mean of 3.483. The results further indicated no statistically significant differences attributable to gender or region. However, statistically significant differences were found by academic qualification in favor of PhD holders, and by years of service in favor of those with more than 20 years of experience.
The study concluded with the need to further strengthen the practice of strategic vigilance among educational supervisors in Taiz Governorate across its various dimensions, with particular emphasis on technological and environmental vigilance. It also recommended enhancing e-training programs and employing modern technologies in information gathering and performance evaluation, thereby contributing to improving the quality and outcomes of the educational process.
