Abstract

 


The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of designing a digital educational program to develop arithmetic skills among first grade students in Taiz City. The researcher adopted a quasi-experimental design with two groups (experimental and control). The study sample consisted of 60 students (30 in the experimental group and 30 in the control group), all aged seven years. For this research, the researcher employed an arithmetic skills diagnostic test along with the digital educational program. The findings revealed statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level between the mean scores of the experimental group in the pre-test and post-test measurements. Furthermore, the results confirmed statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level between the mean scores of the experimental group in the post-test and follow-up measurements. The study presented several recommendations, most notably: generalizing the use of digital educational programs across all stages of basic education due to their positive impact on acquiring and developing arithmetic skills; training first-grade teachers to design and implement interactive digital lessons that foster active learning; and encouraging parents to support their children’s learning at home through digital educational programs to further enhance fundamental skills.
